Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Thursday abducted a Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, in Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The priest was said to have been whisked from his residence, located at St. Gerald Quasi Parish, Kurmin Risga at the wee hour of Thursday.
Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan who confirmed the abduction, called for prayers for the safe return of the cleric.
“We solicit your prayers for his quick and safe release,” Shanet said.
“We invite the general public to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands,” he added, stressing that every legitimate and available means will be deployed to ensure that the cleric returns unharmed and in good health.
As at the time of filing this report, Police was yet to speak on the incident.
