FMBN MD, AHMED DANGIWA: Epitome of professionalism, experience

In a few months of taking over the helm of affairs at the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) as the managing director/chief executive officer, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa has shown that professionalism combined with experience and good leadership qualities can deliver the goods.

Arc. Dangiwa is a consummate, fascinating, inspirational, innovative, amiable and resilient architect with over 30 years of real estate, infrastructure development, banking and managerial experience spanning private and public practices as well as academia

Prior to his recent appointment, Arc. Dangiwa had been serving since 1996 as the managing partner of AM Consults, an architects and real estate development consultant firm, and Jarlo International Nig. Ltd, a construction company, where he supervised the delivery of several outstanding projects in diverse areas and sectors across the country, mainly in the real estate and housing development sector.

Arc. Dangiwa excelled as a mortgage finance practitioner, rising from a property manager in the Sahel Mortgage Finance Limited through manager, Credit Control to becoming the manager, Mortgage Banking Division of the institution. In this capacity, he was involved in the design and construction of a wide variety of mortgage and real estate projects that provide housing solutions to varieties of stakeholders, especially in the social mass housing end. Among several other engagements, Arc. Dangiwa showed his worth as an erudite academician during his stint at the Katsina State Polytechnic in 1988 where he doubled as consulting architect preparing strategy and planning.

Speaking recently in Sokoto while flagging off the state’s disbursement exercise of N243.1 million to 263 benefiting civil servants in the state service under the FMBN Housing Renovation Loans Scheme, Arc. Dangiwa assured that the bank will live its mandate by facilitating and ensuring that low and middle cadre income earners in the civil service own housing property as one of the basic necessities of life. This, Arc. Dangiwa and his team have been working tirelessly to achieve within few months of assuming as the CEO of the bank. It’s arguably a new dawn at the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. Under the Housing Renovation Scheme, the federal government through the FMBN has disbursed a total of N2.3 billion to 3,104 beneficiaries nationwide.

Arc. Dangiwa is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (mnia) and Fellow, Institute of Corporate Executives of Nigeria (ficen). He holds an MSc.(Arc) and MBA both from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in addition to a Bachelor’s honours degree in architecture from the same institution. He has attended numerous training programmes on Computer Aided Designs, Design and Build Workshops and project management courses in addition to several other professional and leadership training programmes.

He is a very active community and grassroots development enthusiast. His highly impactful community services and rich grassroots development experience have also been widely recognized, informing his conferment of “Jarman Kankiya”.
