On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, took to his social media page to lament his arrest by immigration officials on his arrival five months after leaving the shores of Nigeria.

The self-exiled socialite, in a post shared on his Instagram page, claimed that he was arrested by immigration authorities moments after he landed at the airport.

In the short post shared on his official Instagram page, Bobrisky, who said that he decided to leave the country for his ‘sanity and health,’ disclosed that he was not told the reason for his arrest.

“Guys, I have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don’t know what I did o.” He wrote on his Instagram page.

Verification: Bobrisky later disclosed after his initial post had garnered traction across social media that it was an April Fool’s prank and he was never arrested by immigration officials.

Conclusion: While the news of his arrest remains untrue as revealed by him, its clear that Bobrisky made the claim to remain relevant on the social scene after leaving the country in April last year following his arrest and six-month detention for abusing the naira.

Recall that moments after leaving the country, Bobrisky revealed that he decided to travel abroad due to constant harassment by security agencies that were trying to frustrate him.
