The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)on Friday, March 4, 2022 re-arraigned one Stanley Okafor and Labrador Shipping Services Limited in court over allegations of forgery and fraud.
The defendants are facing a nine-count amended charge bordering on attempt to obtain money by false pretence, forgery and possession of document containing false pretence involving an alleged $111,500,000 fraud
The case is before Justice O.A. Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.
The offences are contrary to Section 8 (b) and 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Related Offences Act, 2006; Section 361 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011, and Section 6, 8 (b) and 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Related Act, 2006.
The defendant was first arraigned on November 26, 2021, on a 12-count charge to which he also pleaded “not guilty”. The amendment followed the recovery of several other incriminating documents from the defendant.
