Dave Umahi, governor of Ebonyi State, on Thursday, paid a visit to former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja.
A twitter user, Woye, @Woye1 who announced the development, suggested that Umahi may be FCT minister if Tinubu wins presidential election in 2023.
“Umahi is in town visiting Baba Eko. Umahi remains Gov till May 29,2023 and in – coming Minister of FCT,” he wrote.
The visit comes amid ongoing leadership controversy in the All Progressive Congress (APC), which saw Abubakar Sanni Bello, governor of Niger State replace Mai Mala Buni as chairman of the party’s caretaker committee.
Umahi who apparently supports Buni, had noted that Mr. Bello is only functioning in an acting capacity.
Similarly, Tinubu who reacted to the development in a statement on Thursday, called for internal democracy within the party.
The Ebonyi governor was also recently sacked by a federal high court over his defection from the People’s Democratic Party to the APC.
He has since appealed the judgement.
