Court dissolves 24-year-old marriage of ex-NBA Spokesman

A Edo State High court sitting at Abudu, headquarters of Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the State has dissolved the marriage between a Benin based legal practitioner, Samuel Abaslim Esq and his wife, Mrs. Florence Chinwe Abaslim.

The presiding judge, Justice Vestee Eboreime dissolved on grounds that the marriage between Samuel Abaslim Esq who was a former Spokesman of NBA, Benin branch and his wife, Mrs. Florence Chinwe Abaslim, a Staff of West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Asaba, has broken down irretrievably.

The marriage was conjugated at the Saint James Anglican Church, Benin on October 7,1995.

The petitioner , Samuel Abaslim had filed the divorce petition praying the court to dissolve the marriage, alleging that the respondent, Mrs Florence Chinwe Abaslim had behaved in such a way that the petitioner cannot reasonably be expected to continue to live with her.

Justice Eboreime in her judgement stated that the unchanged evidence of the petitioner has proved that the marriage between the petitioner and the respondent has indeed broken down irretrievably under section 15, (2)(c) of the matrimonial causes Act.

In the circumstances, the court ordered the dissolution of the marriage between them.

He left the tabloid to study law and was called to the Bar over 15 years ago a Supreme court Solicitor and Advocate.
