Real Madrid are through to the semi-finals of this year’s Champions League, after they defeated Bayern Munich 4-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu, in the second leg of their quarter-final tie.
The La Liga side came into the game with a 2-1 lead from the first leg at the Allianz Arena, but Carlo Ancelotti’s men looked the better team from the blast of the referee’s whistle.
Robert Lewandowski gave the Bundesliga champions the lead from the penalty spot, after Arjen Robben was fouled in the area. Cristiano Ronaldo levelled with a deft header, before Sergio Ramos’ own goal swung the tie back in Bayern’s favour.
However, Madrid regained momentum after Arturo Vidal was shown his second yellow card.
Ronaldo added two more goals, while Marco Asensio got a fourth, as Zinedine Zidane’s men ran riot in the end.
In the other game, Atletico Madrid drew 1-1 with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, to progress with a 2-1 aggregate win.
