Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s president, has summoned service chiesf to an emergency meeting at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, in response to Monday night’s attack by terrorists on a Kaduna bound train.
The meeting, which currently ongoing, follows two major security incidents: an attack by terrorists on Kaduna International Airport, and Monday night’s bomb attack on the Kaduna bound train.
Meanwhile, about 10 people have been confirmed dead in the deadly attack by the terrorists on Monday, among whom are Musa-Lawal Ozigi, the Secretary-General of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Chinelo Megafu a young medical doctor who works at St. Gerald’s Catholic Hospital in Kaduna.
This is even as several people who sustained gunshot injuries are currently receiving treatment, including former deputy governor of Zamfara State, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala.
Wakkala was shot in the leg and was being hospitalised.
According to sources, 15 patients were brought to St. Gerald’s Catholic Hospital in Kaduna, two of whom have been confirmed dead, including Chinelo.
The terrorists who targeted first class coaches during the attack were said to have kidnapped several people, even as they shot those who resisted being kidnapped.
Earlier on Tuesday, Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Farouq Yahaya visited the scene of the attack and promised the review the security situation in the area
