BREAKING: Respite as electricity workers suspend strike

Electricity workers under the aegis of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) have suspended their strike for two weeks.

NUEE national president, Martin Uzoegwu, made this known in Abuja on Wednesday after a meeting with Chris Ngige, minister of labour.

THE WITNESS reports that the electricity workers under NUEE embarked on industrial strike action on Wednesday to press home their demands.

The federal government immediately summoned an emergency meeting with the electricity workers after they shut down the national grid, throwing the nation into darkness.
