The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) screening committee is, today, Friday, screening presidential hopefuls on its platform.
Among those being screened are Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former vice president; Bukola Saraki, former senate president; Peter Obi, former Anambra State governor; Anyim Pius Anyim, former senate president; Dele Momodu, media personality.
Others are, Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom; Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers; Ayo Fayose, former governor of Ekiti; Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto: US-based medical doctor, Nwachukwu Anakwenze: investment banker, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen: Bala Mohameed, governor of Bauchi State and Sam Ohuabunwa, a prominent pharmacist.
Also to be screened are Cosmos Ndukwe, Chikwendu Kalu, Charles Ugwu and Tareila Diana.
Overall, the opposition party has 17 presidential aspirants on its platform.
The panel is vetting those who have purchased and submitted the expression of interest and nomination forms to represent the party in the 2023 presidential election.
The exercise, which started around 11 am, is under way at Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja.
David Mark, former senate president, is presiding over the nine-member screening panel.
