Africa’s most versatile entertainer, Koffi Ayinde Idowu Nuel professional known as ‘Koffi Tha Guru’ has set another milestone as he just released the official video of ‘After Service’ from his soon to be released Gospel project ‘Sunday Special’.
According to the comedian, the gospel project is a collection of beautiful message – driven songs delivered in pop and ethnic soul.
“After Service’ is a song that celebrates virtuous women and encourages a disciplined dating culture,” the award-winning entertainer said of the song.
Koffi Tha Guru’s ‘Sunday Special’ is his second gospel effort having released ‘Gospel Truth’ in 2012.
The 13-tracker album also features Weird MC, Mike Abdul, J.Lyricist, Ami (formerly Provabs) and Esrael, who happens to be the album producer, except for the track ‘Canaan’ produced by Ex.O and features Boomerang and Josh2funny.
Other featured acts on the project include the violin maestro, Irohinayo and Sax sensation teenager, Temilayo, who also featured on the soul-piercing track ‘I Want to fall.
It also includes a bonus track previously recorded ‘Devil Doesn’t’ featuring BOUQUI and Fatai Rolling Dollar.
‘Sunday Special’ album will be officially launched on Saturday, December 11 at Koffi’s Stand up comedy special ‘I Stand Corrected’ which will hold at Terra Kulture Victoria Island Lagos.
Koffi Tha Guru, was born to a Togolese mother and Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos father. He delivers his act in English, Yoruba language, and Togolese Ewe (pronounced A_vay).
After his education, he joined Theatre 15 in 1998 and trained as a stage actor, dancer, and comedy opening act.
Idowu-Nuel’s first major television breakthrough was as a feature on the hit comedy campus sitcom, “Twilight Zone,” popularly referred to as “Shake Body,” where he played the Dauda character.
In 2003, he auditioned for the famous Nigerian comedy show, “Night of a Thousand Laughs,” where he got chosen as one of the four qualifiers to perform at the annual concert from a total of 34 talents.
