Ahmed Buhari has been unveiled as the vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress( ADC).
Making the announcement was Dumebi Kachikwu, the presidential candidate of the party.
While unveiling Buhari in Abuja, Kachikwu who is the CEO of Roots TV, said the government of President Muhammadu Buhari had failed being unable to tackle the state of insecurity in Nigeria.
He assured that the ADC would take Nigeria out of its present security and economic woes.
Kachikwu said, “While terrorists are recruiting, the military is not. If we must defeat the terrorists, we need massive recruitment into the military.”
In his own remarks, Buhari said he accepted the offer to be the ADC VP out of his desire to effect positive change in Nigeria.
He said: “Many presidential candidates and their running mates have only focused on talking about the Nigerian problem, we are all familiar with, while some have decided to publicly attack and assassinate the character of other candidates.
“It is solutions that will get us out of this mess that has been created out of negligence, laziness, self-centeredness, self-denial and arrogance.
“Dumebi and I have, together with well-meaning Nigerians, built a blueprint that has been designed to bring back the lost glory of our dear nation and put smiles on the faces of the Nigerian people.”
