Abducted Edo Nigeria Immigration spokesperson regains freedom

THE kidnapped Public Relation Officer of the Edo Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mrs Bridget Esene, has been released by her abductors on Tuesday.

Esene was released at about 4pm yesterday after spending over 46 hours in the kidnappers den.

The Edo Police Command confirmed her release and declined to comment on whether ransom was paid or not.

A family source disclosed that ransom was paid to secure her freedom from her abductors.

The source said, “We were very discreet about how we went about securing her freedom because of the publicity generated by her abduction.

“We had to pay to get her released but the amount is not what I can say publicly for security reason. She was released to us this (Tuesday) evening at about 4pm.”

The spokesman of the Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed her release.
