Ali Modu Sheriff, former governor of Borno State; Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, former Zamfara governor, among other top aspirants for the All Progressive Congress (APC) chairmanship position, have lost out in the contest as the party’s Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), headed by Abubakar Sanni Bello, governor of Niger State on Wednesday, rectified its zoning arrangement that ceded the post to the North Central.
Sheriff and Yari are from the North East and North West, respectively, and are therefore disqualified from contesting.
