Police dismiss SARS officer involved in footballer, Tiyamiyu’s death

Olaniyi Ogunsoro, an Inspector with the Abeokuta Zonal Intervention Squad of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, has been dismissed from the service following the death of Remo Football FC star, Kazeem Tiyamiyu on Saturday.

The Witness gathered that Ogunsoro was dismissed following the approval by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone II, Ahmed Iliyasu.

Ogun State Police Command had, Monday, recommended his dismissal to the AIG after facing a Departmental Orderly Room trial where he was found guilty of unprofessional conducts.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the dismissal of Ogunsoro to our correspondent.

Ogunsoro was alleged to have arrested the footballer popularly called Kaka in Sagamu on the pretence that he was wearing military camouflage to terrorise the community after which Kaka was alleged pushed out of the car on their way to Abeokuta.

He lost his life in the process.
