All unregistered SIM cards will be deactivated on Wednesday – Pantami

The Honourable Minister of Communications, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FNCS, FBCS, FIIM has cautioned all those using or selling pre-registered SIM cards to be wary of their actions as in the next 48 hours, all improperly registered SIM cards will be deactivated.

The energetic and vibrant minister stated that appropriate measures have been put in place to ensure that if a crime is committed using a SIM card, the perpetrator would be identified within 60 minutes and prosecuted accordingly.

Dr Pantami made this disclosure today while officially commissioning the National Emergency Toll-Free Number (112) and the Commissioning of the Katsina State Emergency Communications Center in Katsina, Katsina State.

Pantami said there is no agenda in the Next Level Federal Ministry of Communications beside the agenda of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari led administration which is built on three cardinal blueprints that involve fighting corruption, securing the lives and properties of Nigerians and revitalizing the economy.

He revealed that the Emergency Communications Centers will be deployed across all the 36 States of Nigeria, with Ogun State next in line for the formal commissioning.
