A multiple-vehicle crash involving two articulated trucks and a private car disrupted traffic along the Gbagada section of the Lagos Expressway on Monday morning, prompting an emergency response from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
The accident occurred at TREM inward Gbagada, where the two cargo-laden trucks collided with a private vehicle, according to a traffic update issued by LASTMA on its official X account.
The agency said emergency responders were immediately mobilised to the scene, with a tow truck deployed to remove the affected vehicles and restore the free flow of traffic.
LASTMA also confirmed that its rescue and recovery unit was on ground to coordinate the evacuation of the damaged vehicles while managing traffic around the accident site to minimise congestion.
Recovery operations were ongoing as of the time of the update, while the cause of the collision had not been disclosed.
Motorists were advised to exercise caution when approaching the area and to expect traffic delays until the recovery exercise is completed.
