Troops of the Joint Task Force North-West under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have intensified military operations in Katsina state, destroying several terrorist camps and logistics facilities during a coordinated clearance mission in Matazu LGA.

The operation, codenamed Operation Clean Sweep III, was launched on June 14 as security forces stepped up efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating in parts of the state.

According to military authorities, troops carried out a series of intelligence-driven raids, fighting patrols and search operations across identified terrorist hideouts, targeting areas believed to be used for planning attacks and storing supplies.

A statement issued by the spokesperson of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, said security personnel recorded major breakthroughs around the Dikkawa Hills and adjoining communities, where multiple terrorist camps were uncovered and destroyed.

He disclosed that troops also conducted operations in Adua, Nasarawa and Karaduwa communities, where several structures used to support terrorist activities were dismantled.

The military noted that the destruction of the facilities would significantly weaken the operational capacity of criminal groups active in the area by disrupting their supply chains and movement networks.

Danja explained that the operation is being executed in collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders as part of broader efforts to improve security across Katsina State.

He reassured residents that security forces would continue sustained operations aimed at preventing terrorists from regrouping or establishing new bases within the region.

The military also appealed to members of the public to support ongoing efforts by providing credible information that could assist security agencies in tracking criminal elements.

Authorities maintained that troops would sustain pressure on terrorist groups until the objectives of the operation are fully achieved.
