Adebayo Adelabu, former minister of power has rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Oyo state.

He insisted that the figures announced from the exercise are inaccurate and misleading.

Adelabu, who resigned from his ministerial position to contest the party’s governorship ticket but lost to Senator Sarafadeen Alli, has continued to dispute the result, alleging manipulation in the electoral process.

In a statement issued by Comrade Femi Awogboro, his media aide, the former minister claimed that the total number of registered APC members in Oyo state is significantly lower than the figures being circulated in relation to the primary.

He argued that the party’s actual membership in the state stands at 153,640, not the over 500,000 votes reportedly credited to the winner.

Adelabu further described the announced figures as unrealistic and called on party members and stakeholders to await official confirmation of the final results.

The statement also claimed that the former minister enjoys strong grassroots support across various wards in Oyo State, based on ongoing internal collation of results.

“Those in charge of the results need to be careful and not to be used by anyone to truncate or alter the results because it is already clear to us from what we are collating from each ward,” the statement read.
