The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of plotting to prevent it from fielding candidates in the 2027 general elections.

In a statement on Monday by Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s national publicity secretary described the alleged derecognition move as a deliberate attempt to exclude the party from the electoral process.

According to him, INEC’s actions, including the reported refusal to receive official correspondence from the party, are aimed at creating obstacles that could hinder its participation in the polls.

The ADC warned that such moves, if sustained, could undermine democratic principles and limit political competition ahead of the 2027 elections.
