Veteran actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, widely known for his portrayal of the iconic character Papa Ajasco, has announced a rebranding of his public identity.

In a video shared on Instagram, the actor introduced his new stage name as Bondu Alaska, marking a fresh chapter in his career.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, good morning Nigerians. My name is Bondu Alaska. The one and only Bondu Alaska,” he declared in the viral clip.

The move follows recent controversy involving the founder of Wale Adenuga Productions, Wale Adenuga, over restrictions on the use of the “Papa Ajasco” brand.

Ayoyinka had also recently spoken about financial struggles, sparking public reactions and support from fans.

Expressing appreciation, he said, “I want to use this medium to thank Nigerians because they have done a lot in my life. I’m a new person now, and I promise that I will not let you down.”

As part of the rebrand, he has updated his Instagram handle to reflect the new identity and invited fans and brands to engage with him under the Bondu Alaska name.

Despite the change, many fans have found it difficult to detach from the long-established “Papa Ajasco” persona, with some insisting the name remains inseparable from the actor.

The rebranding is seen as a strategic response to legal and branding limitations surrounding the “Papa Ajasco” character, which is owned and managed by Wale Adenuga Productions.
