The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that two people were injured following a multi-vehicle accident along the AYA–Nyanya expressway in Abuja.
According to a statement from the FRSC on Tuesday, the crash occurred near the Kugbo Furniture Market area at approximately 4:48 pm on Monday.
Six vehicles were involved in the incident, including two tippers, a commercial bus, and several private cars.
The FRSC said its Zebra 12 rescue team arrived at the scene within four minutes of receiving an emergency call and immediately began rescue operations.
One individual trapped inside a tipper was extricated and administered first aid before being transported to the National Hospital Abuja for further treatment.
“The injured victims were stabilised at the scene, while efforts were made to prevent further casualties and ensure the safety of other road users,” the statement reads.
The FRSC said its unit commander coordinated rescue and traffic control operations, while recovery equipment was deployed to clear the damaged vehicles.
It added that traffic flow was restored along the busy corridor after the operation.
The corps said vehicles involved in the crash have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
Shehu Mohammed, corps marshal of the FRSC, reiterated the agency’s commitment to prompt emergency response and road safety.
He urged motorists, particularly drivers of heavy-duty vehicles, to observe speed limits, maintain lane discipline, and stay vigilant to avoid accidents.
