The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly arrested Bashir Jamoh, the former director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), in Kaduna State.

According to a family representative, Jamoh was intercepted by ICPC operatives while returning from a court engagement to his residence.

Sources indicate that the former NIMASA boss was initially taken to his home for a search before being transported from Kaduna to Abuja.

The family claims that since his arrest, Jamoh has been held incommunicado, without access to his family or legal counsel. They have raised concerns about his safety, describing his detention as a violation of his fundamental rights.

As of now, the ICPC has not issued an official statement regarding the arrest or disclosed the specific allegations against Jamoh.
