Ngozi Odu, deputy governor of Rivers State, has officially registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The registration took place at her ward in Akabuka town, ward 8, unit 11, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area.

After completing the registration, Odu sang “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand”, a song closely associated with President Bola Tinubu.

Her move from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) follows weeks after Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers State, also joined the APC.

Fubara met with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa before formally switching allegiance to the APC.

He was subsequently registered as a party member by Tony Okocha, Rivers state APC chairman, who said he acted under instructions from the party’s national secretariat.

Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the APC, recently confirmed Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers State.

Odu’s defection and registration mark a significant shift in the political alignment of the state ahead of forthcoming elections.
