Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been crowned Women’s Team of the Year at the 2025 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards held on Wednesday night in Rabat, Morocco.

The nine-time World Cup campaigners and record 10-time African champions earned the prestigious honour following their exceptional outing at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they lifted the trophy—also in Morocco.

Their dominant performance throughout the tournament placed them ahead of other strong contenders, including Ghana’s Black Queens and Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses, ultimately reaffirming their status as Africa’s most successful women’s national team.

This latest recognition further cements the Falcons’ legacy, highlighting their consistency, resilience, and remarkable influence on women’s football across the continent. It also reflects CAF’s acknowledgment of their sustained excellence both on and off the pitch.

The Super Falcons—one of Nigeria’s most decorated national sides—continue to inspire a new generation of female footballers across Africa, strengthening their reputation as a true powerhouse in the global women’s game.
