NELFUND raises alarm over fake student loan portal online

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has issued a warning to students about a fake loan registration message currently circulating online.

The fraudulent message directs applicants to visit a third-party link, http://gvly.xyz/Nelfund-Student-Loan, which the office has confirmed is unauthorised and malicious.

In a statement on its official X handle on Tuesday, the agency urged students not to click the link or share any personal information.

The agency emphasized that the official student loan portal is only accessible through its verified website and social media channels.

“Applicants are encouraged to always verify official announcements via NELFUND’s official website and social media channels,” the statement read.

“This warning is part of NELFUND’s ongoing effort to protect students and ensure the student loan application process remains safe and secure.
