The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has called on Nigerians who lost money to the fraudulent cryptocurrency trading platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), to report at its zonal offices in Ibadan and Lagos.

The Commission is currently prosecuting three suspects — Adefowoara Abiodun Olanipekun, Otorudo Avwerosuo, and Ehirim Justice Chukwuebuka — for their alleged roles in the scheme.

According to EFCC Spokesman, Dele Oyewale, CBEX deceived investors with “promises of unrealistic returns,” which resulted in huge financial losses for many Nigerians.

“Victims who invested through individuals linked to CBEX offices in Ibadan and Idimu, Lagos, are urged to assist ongoing investigations by reporting to the Ibadan Zonal Directorate, 164, Reverend Oyebode Crescent, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State and Lagos Zonal Directorate 2: 7A, Okotie-Eboh Street, Ikoyi, Lagos,” he said.

The Commission explained that the move was necessary to secure justice for victims and reinforce its prosecution efforts
