Three individuals, including a teenager and a state official, have reportedly been abducted by bandits in Gbugbu community, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
An eyewitness account revealed that victims were kidnapped between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm on Monday, and nothing has been heard from their assailants at the time of filing this report
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, who confirmed the incident during a press briefing in Ilorin, lamented that bandits operated unabated despite the presence of security personnel in the area.
It would be recalled that residents of Ndeji communities abandoned their homes and fled for safety when armed bandits invaded the area
Security forces, including the police, military, civil defence, local hunters and vigilantes, have intensified operations to track down the perpetrators in Edu, Ifelodun and Patigi local governments, where bandit hideouts have been identified.
