Keystone Bank Limited has reopened its renovated branch at Plot 584, Ikorodu Road, Ketu, Lagos, aiming to strengthen its service delivery to customers and support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the area.

The reopening ceremony on Friday, May 16, 2024, brought together business owners, market leaders, customers, and local dignitaries.

Declaring the branch open, Hassan Imam, Managing Director and CEO of Keystone Bank, highlighted the role of the Ketu branch in the bank’s retail expansion across Nigeria.

“The reopening of the Ketu branch is a significant milestone in our strategic growth journey,” Imam said. “This axis is home to a vibrant community of entrepreneurs, traders, and families. We are here to serve them better with upgraded facilities and more personalized banking experiences.”

He stressed the bank’s commitment to offering seamless and convenient banking services, emphasizing that physical branches remain important alongside digital banking efforts.

“As a retail-driven bank, we are deeply committed to empowering MSMEs through tailored loan offerings, capacity-building initiatives, and advisory services,” he added.

Imam noted the bank’s past partnerships with institutions like Facebook, Google, the Enterprise Development Centre, and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support the MSME sector, and said these efforts will continue in Ketu.

Nnenna Anyim-Okoro, Executive Director, Corporate Bank & South, said the branch would serve as a hub for economic empowerment, providing credit access, financial literacy, and digital tools aimed at helping businesses grow.

Chairman of the Mile 12 (Ketu) International Market, Shehu Usman, expressed appreciation for the reopening, noting that many traders had opened new accounts.

“Within just one week of planning for this reopening, over 100 traders and business owners in the market have opened new accounts in addition to existing customers,” Usman said.

He encouraged the bank to introduce more financial packages tailored to the needs of small businesses.

At the event, local electronics merchant Ayokunle Ibikunle spoke about the benefits of having a bank nearby.

“Having a reliable bank nearby means quicker transactions, better access to loans, and fewer delays. I’ve already opened a new account today,” he said.

More than 200 entrepreneurs and traders opened accounts during the event, with many others reactivating dormant ones. The branch is expected to be a key center for retail and SME banking services in the area.

Present at the reopening were senior Keystone Bank executives, community leaders, market association heads, and members of the Lagos business community.
