At least eight people have been killed and three others injured in an explosion triggered by improvised explosive devices (IEDs) allegedly planted by Boko Haram terrorists in Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to credible sources, the blast occurred at approximately 11 a.m. on Monday when vehicles traveling from Rann, the administrative center of Kala-Balge Local Government Area, struck the IEDs on the road to Gamboru Ngala.

The incident reportedly took place near Furunduma, about 11 kilometers from Rann.

Victims of the explosion included several women and children.

A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force, who requested anonymity, confirmed: “eight people were killed in the explosion incident.”

Another source suggested that the actual death toll could be higher due to the number of women and children who were part of the convoy.
