Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended senator representing Kogi Central has said that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabi and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello are behind the fake constituents who are mooting for her recall.
Natasha, who is the first elected female senator in Kogi State, accused Akpabio and Yahaya of plotting a recall process against her using fake constituents.
The politician who made the allegations in a statement issued on Wednesday after receiving her supporters in Ihima, Okehi, Local Government area of Kogi State, stated that Bello should explain to the world where he got the fake constituents and also accused him of being the mastermind behind moves for her recall.
The politician said, “All available evidence and facts point directly to Bello as the mastermind behind the recall move.”
The recall attempt, which draws attention to continuing political tensions in Nigeria, was characterized by the senator as a continuation of Bello’s political grudge against her.
“I will advise the former governor to rather focus on clearing his name over allegations of fraudulent diversion of N89.2 billion instead of attempting to destabilise the mandate given to me by the people of Kogi Central.
“The former governor’s hands are already full with corruption allegations, yet he is still bent on frustrating the will of the people.
“His actions before and during the last general elections, where he sponsored numerous attacks against me, are well documented. This recall attempt is nothing but another ploy to undermine the people’s will,” Natasha added.
