There was pandemonium at Focus Holiday Inn hotel on Wednesday as inferno guts part of the building situated in the Garki area of Abuja.
The Witness reliably gathered that the fire started at about 3 a.m.
An official of the hotel who spoke with our correspondent said they were alerted when a guest ran down to the reception unclad to notify workers about the fire.
The fire, which started from a section of the three-storey building, extended to other parts of the complex, causing panic among guests and staff members. The cause of the fire is unclear and no casualty has so far been reported.
Several calls were placed to fire service officials who did not respond in time.
However, at the time of this report, fire service officials had arrived and were trying to put out the fire.
