Nuhu Clark, the member-elect for Chibok constituency in the Borno house of assembly, has died.
Clark, who was receiving treatment in India, died on Monday, NAN reported.
The state house of assembly elections was conducted alongside the governorship polls on March 18.
Clark died 23 days after the election was conducted.
Babakura Abbajatau, commissioner for home affairs, information and culture in the state, confirmed the development in an interview on Wednesday.
Umar Kadafur, deputy governor of the state, said it is a loss to his immediate family, the people of Southern Borno and the entire state.
Kadafur, while expressing his condolence to the family of the deceased, described the death of Clark as a loss to the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that the late politician contributed to the development of the state.
Clark was the former commissioner for poverty alleviation in Borno.
He was said to have resigned his position as the commissioner to contest for Chibok constituency under the APC platform.
