Abbah Isa Modu, member of the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP), has surrendered to troops of the Multi National Joint Task Force in Toumur, Diffa region of Niger Republic.
According to a report by Zagazola Makama, a counter insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, the 27-year-old Modu who hails from Ari Koukouri village in Nguiguimi escaped from the camp of the insurgents after he was fed up with living life as a terrorist.
Zagazola understands that Modu had participated in terror campaign for many years before he escaped from his last base at Tumbum Kurnawa.
