The Delta State police command on Thursday, arrested 51 members of Eiye confraternity in the Ogwashi-Uku area of the state.
Bright Edafe, the command’s public relations officer who announced the arrest in a statement, said the cult members were arrested during the celebration of their anniversary.
He also announced and 80-year man with 114 rounds of live cartridges and another woman with 6 locally made guns hidden in an umbrella
“Fifty-one Eiye confraternity members arrested while celebrating 15/6 which happens to be their anniversary. There has been cult related killings in ogwashi-uku for some time now, so the command has been on the lookout, these ones will have their day in court,” he wrote via his twitter handle, @Brightgoldenboy on Friday.
“80-year-old papa arrested with 114 rounds of live cartridges in Delta, another woman arrested with 6 locally made guns hidden in an umbrella, the command will not relent in it’s fight against crime and criminality.”
