Bukola Saraki, a former Senate President and presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has pleaded with party delegates in Ondo State to vote for him at the primaries because he is their son-in-law.
Saraki said the state would benefit from his presidency as his wife is from there.
The former Kwara State governor who was represented by Alhaji Abubakar Baraje, ex PDP national chairman, while berating the President Muhammadu Buhari regime for inflicting hardship on Nigerians, said he was the first person to raise alarm over the oil subsidy scam.
He lamented that payment of oil subsidies has tripled under the APC-led administration.
“We are here because Ondo State is our biggest masquerades. We know Ondo State is for Bukola Saraki. There is nowhere we have been to that the delegates will not say Saraki is the best aspirants of them all,” he said.
“Your son is the answer to Nigeria’s problems. He has the audacity to do what is right. We want you to ensure 100 percent of the delegates in Ondo State do the needful and vote for Saraki.
“He will be able to deliver on promises. He performed creditably well as Senate President and has remained the best Senate President in our recent history.
Ondo PDP Chairman, Adams Fatai, who described Saraki as a son of Ondo State, said delegates from the state have no reason not to support Saraki.
“He proved what separation of powers means. He is a bridge-builder which was why he succeeded as Senate President. We will never abandon him. Nigeria is bleeding. We need people that can fix the country,” he said
