Rotimi Amaechi, minister of Transportation and 2023 presidential aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), has said no president can rule Nigeria from a hospital bed, stressing that Nigerians need an energetic leader.
Amaechi said this when he visited Governor Dapo Abiodun and APC delegates in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Monday evening.
The former Rivers State Governor, said many have told him that being energetic is not enough to rule Nigeria effectively. He however maintained that the next Nigerian president must be energetic as no one presides over a nation from a hospital.
“I come with experience, I’m 56 years old, I will be 57 in May, so I’m the bridge between the young and the old. I have energy and people have said, no, being energetic is not enough to preside over a state, but you can’t preside over a state in the hospital.
Responding, Abiodun saluted his courage for declaring his intention to run for president and wished him well in his presidential ambition.
