Senator Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, has declared his intention to run for president on platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Akpabio who declared his intention at a rally on Wednesday, said he loves Nigeria passionately, and wants to contribute to its development.
Assuring that the Egyptians Nigerians see today, they will see no more, Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom state, proclaimed himself the most loved politician in the country.
He said he is determined to not let the country sink, but contribute his wealth of experience to its rebirth and development.
He said he doesn’t just seek to become candidate of APC, but the next president of Nigeria.
Akpabio hailed President Muhammadu Buhari as a man of integrity, noting that his family doesn’t go around looking for contracts.
The former governor also praised Buhari’s anti corruption drive, promising to continue from where the president stopped in 2023.
He said Buhari is fighting corruption the way it should be fought.
