The seasoned broadcast journalist and media entrepreneur is coming back on television with a new show “Political Stew” which will air on Television Continental.
Political Stew is a “live talk show that brings the people abreast of daily political happenings in Nigeria and around the world”.
The new TV talk show is coming at a time the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC released timetable for the 2019 general elections in Nigeria and also Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has declared for the second term.
This online news platform recalls that Mr Aledeh, a seasoned broadcaster, left Channels television in March 2017. On the 26th of that same month, which was his birthday, Sulai as he is fondly called, launched an integrated online platform ALEDEH (www.aledeh.com).
Before his experience with Channels television, Mr Aledeh was a pioneer staff of Television Continental, he also presented programmes for radio and television like A.M Lagos, the flagship breakfast show for Radio Nigeria – making him the station’s most prolific serving presenter.
During his stint with Channels television, Sulai made headlines with his colleagues covering two major national elections in Nigeria in 2011 and 2015.
Apart from his daily show Sunrise Daily, Mr Aledeh has been seen on Politics Today, State of the Nation and the Station’s flagship News at 10.
Sulai handled political programmes and also made daily news and current affairs for Channels television.
However, owing to his love for television, Sulai has now returned with a new talk show “Political Stew” which is expected to set the pace for “political discourse” ahead of the 2019 general elections in Nigeria.
In April, Sulai gave a hint about the show on the micro-blogging site, Twitter but refused to mention the television station that the show will be aired.
Like Sulai, a poll was also created by @politicalstewng, asking the people to guess the television station that will air the show.
“Political Stew debuts soon. Can you guess on which Nigerian Television station this show will air?” @politicalstewng had tweeted in April, with African Independent Television, Channels Television, Nigerian Television Authority, and Television Continental listed as the possible stations to air the much anticipated political show of the year.
The result of the poll showed that the people believed that the show will be aired on Television Continental as the station received 56% of the votes cast.
AIT – 8%
Channels TV – 33%
NTA – 3%
TVC – 56%, the poll results from @politicalstewng Twitter handle read.

Lagos partners Entertainment Media Ltd for High School Band Challenge
In a strategic move to integrate secondary school students as an important socio-economic group whose energy and creativity should be harnessed towards attaining the vision for Greater Lagos, the Lagos State Government is working with Entertainment Media Limited, Publishers of E24-7 Magazine and FlipTV, to organise an annual Lagos High School Band Challenge (LHSBC).
LHSBC is designed to be a live music competition among secondary school students in Lagos in both public and private schools across the state’s five educational and administrative divisions.
The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in a letter of endorsement noted that the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration “values the intention of Entertainment Media Limited to organise the Lagos High School Band Challenge, a secondary school focused talent hunt competition designed to promote the knowledge of live music and performance using musical instruments among students.”
Expressing his appreciation to Lagos State Government for the partnership, Executive Producer and Chief Executive of Entertainment Media Limited, Biodun Kupoluyi, said LHSBC will help to discover and nurture musical talents among secondary school students in Lagos State.
“We are happy that Lagos State Government is working with us on this project and has gone ahead to include it in its annual Tourism, Arts and Culture Calendar as one of the initiatives the state will promote. We welcome this endorsement from Lagos State Government and we have been challenged to inspire the students as the focus of the initiative,” he said.
Mr. Kupoluyi noted that the project is a Pan-Lagos Initiative that will involve Secondary School Students in both public and private schools across the five divisions of the state.
“There will be the elimination stages, the quarter-final, semi-final and the grand finale where prizes will be won. The grand finale is scheduled to hold in June on World Music Day.
“We want to bring back the golden era of School Bands in Lagos State where secondary schools have performing bands that perform during school social events and at state/national functions. We also want to use this medium to call on corporate Nigeria, especially corporate organisations that target youths and teenagers, to come on board and partner with us. There is a huge opportunity for branding and touch points for brands to connect with young people in Lagos State,” Kupoluyi concluded.
